I recently pulled my points type distributor to upgrade it to a pertronix electronic ignition. Everything went fine but I forgot what and were the wires connect to. i have two wire comming from the pickup in the dist. which go to the coil + and -. The small condenser mounted to the side of the coil goes to the + or the - on the coil? I also have a wire coming off the firewall that I thought was connected to the distributor as well, but can't remember where..... Any help?

Do you have the Pertronix instructions that came with the unit?
The red wire from the module needs a full 12 volts - you'll have to run a 14-ga. or 16-ga. wire from an ignition-switched source on the fuse block to feed it; the existing ignition wire that goes to the (+) side of the coil is a resistance wire, so you don't want to connect the red wire to the coil (+) terminal. The black wire from the module connects to the coil (-) terminal.
The radio noise suppression capacitor mounted on the coil bracket connects to the (+) terminal on the coil.Attached Files- Top
