    67 Corvette Bias Ply Tires

    Hi Guys,

Besides Kelsey Tire, does anyone have a reputable outfit for getting correct reproduction bias ply tires? Any help is appreciated.

    Best,
    Dave

The new coker firestone super sport redline tire is a pretty nice repop tire.

I bought the Kelsey Tire 775/15 Power Cushion Bias Plys with 5/8 whitewalls for my 67 and absolutely love them. I was running red-line radials before and I honestly don't feel much difference once the flat spot runs out, which takes about 5 minutes of driving. I have buzzed through the mountains of WV on the bias plys and had a blast. None of the problems other mention.

Funny, I was about to ask the very same question, I want a set of white walls for my 67 with correct width and the last time I checked I thought C-Tire didn't have the correct width.

FYI-Tire Cradle makes a set of pads to park your baby on and will stop the flat spot problem. They can save your tires, I have four sets and they work great.

I have heard only bad things about coker tires, you need to talk to someone who actually has them on a non trailer queen if you plan to drive car any at all, nothing but positive on kelsy

I have the BFG Silvertown red stripe bias ply on my '67. I got them from Corvette Central (price was best) and am not sure who made them, but they ride fine. Not nearly as good as the radials in holding the road (like to follow grooves in the road), but I have driven them on hundred mile plus trips with no problems.

She's already sitting on them and in a bubble for the winter. I will let you know if they actually prevent the flat spot or not when I roll her out this spring. The way they are designed it would be a pain to park on them every time I took the car out. Invariably several of them aren't sitting exactly perfectly when you roll up on them and you need to use a jack to raise the car and re-center the cradle. But for long-term storage they seem to be working great!
