    Control Arm Rebuilder

    Hello All,

The person helping me rebuild the front end of my C-3 has given up on removing the lower control arm bushings and shaft. Without having the right tools I am afraid any further effort on our part will damage the arms.
So, where/who can I send all 4 (upper and lower) control arms and have them finish the removal and replacement of the bushings?
We have the upper bushings out and all arms have been sandblasted. With the lower arms we have managed to get the bushing shells away from the arm but the shafts are seized inside the bushings. And I am really tired of fighting these things. I just want to box them up and let someone that knows what they are doing fix this.

Thanks for any names of shops.

    Regards. David

      Dick,

Bairs did the work on my differential and trailing arms. I did not realize they did front suspension work. I have checked their web site but it does not mention this service.
I will give them a call tomorrow. They do #1 work.

      Thanks, David

When I was at Bair's Brian gave me a tour. He has a oven that heats up the parts and makes the rubber bushings turn into a fine powder.
Impressed with clean shop and a good assembly area . On my control arms
I took a torch ( propane ) and burned out the rubber bushings . ( outside not a good idea to do inside wife would kill me )Then I punched out the outer sleeve and took the inner sleeve off the shaft. Worked out fine.
          Good Luck .

Thanks guys. I have had Bair's do a lot of work for me in the past. I did not realize they did front suspension.
Anyway, spoke to Brian this morning and he is going to do the work.

              Regards, David
