Re: 72 Rocker mldg. screws
Guys, according to my '72 AIM, the vertical sheet metal screw that secures the tab to the body on a '72 is a hex head. I understand, but am not certain - someone with an AIM for a '70 or '71 pls check - that earlier C3's had a phillips screw.
I was not able to buy the correct screw, or a repro screw for my car, HOWEVER, I did a search through the AIM in detail and found that the same part number screw as was used on the rocker panel was used to secure the lower shift boot to the floor pan (manual shift). Admittedly, I used a "donor" screw from my own shift boot application to replace a missing rocker panel screw, since the lower boot screws don't show anyway. Of course then I found some correct screws at Carlisle. Now I need to tear into the lower boot to correct the screw. Maybe someday...Don Lowe

Re: 72 Rocker mldg. screws
Quite sure its a FLANGED head. Also looks a lot like the 6 screws that hold each window mechanism cover plate to the inner door, but I can't check as I'm away from my AIM today. In fact, I'm sending this reply from the Blackberry so I can only hope you get this response. I'll follow up tomorrow. Am I sick or what?Last edited by Don L.; February 27, 2010, 09:10 AM.Don Lowe
