    53-55 soft top installation

been near 30 years since i installed a new top on our 54. about to install a new one on our 55 . can't remember if the 2nd and 3rd bows are extended foreward to their FULLEST before installing the straps and pads, but i think that's their position before the strap/pads are installed. anybody done one lately whjo can confirm or deny my thinking? thanks guys, mike

Mike, according to John Kennedy's instructions, "Center bow measurement at center of bow, down to the floor along side tunnel, should be 40" +/- .250. Lug at siscor is not a stop. Adjust .50 between".

    2nd Design Frame
"Measuring same as above, should result in measurement of 38" +/- .250".

I have used several of John's tops and never had an issue, as long as his instructions are used. Geometry of the top frame is critical for the top to fit.

          Mike,

After you work through your installation, would you post some tips? Early spring I will be needing to install my top and it is the one job I am not so sure I want to tackle.

          Thanks,

          Dennis

I'll dig it out and send it on Mon. I think the distance between the rear 2 bow's (window space) is 14 inch's. That has to be exact for the rest to fit. Bob
