    C1 (1960) Deck Lid Problem

I have stripped/sanded my deck lid in the restoration process, but I have a concern. When I have the deck lid right side up and press on the glass in the center of the panel (see circle in picture 1 attached) the glass is very flexible, i.e., I can press it in quite easily. I don't know if the glass has just been sanded so much over its life that this area has gotten thin, or if the top glass panel has become delaminated from the bottom panel. I need to know if the top and bottom panels where bonded around just the outside edges, or if originally there was some adhesive applied in the center of the panel. The only place I think it could have been was alone the indention on the bottom panel (See arrow in picture 2).

Can anyone definitely tell me where bonding adhesive was originally applied on these panels? Note: I have checked the AIM and Nolan Adam's book and can't find anything.

    Thanks,
    Don

The panel is bonded every where it meet the cover panel like a hood is. that's why if a guy has to use two hands to open the front hood the cover broke loose from the frame panel and looks tilted when up.
