    Tie Rod End

Anyone happen to have the part number for the Left and Right Tie Rod Ends on a 1962. I'm not finding it in the AIM or Service Manual.
    Thanks.

David, learned this from John Hinckley; "if it is shown in the AIM, then was installed at St.Louis". Front ends came as an assembly to St.Louis. Left tie rod end is 3737595 and was forged 3691955, right tie rod end is 3737596 and was forged 3691956. Gary....

Remember that the zerk fittings come in from the sides on originals, not from the bottom.

Indeed they do, thanks for the heads up William. THe AIM actually shows that quite well but does not give the part numbers to the seperate pieces.

            Re: Tie Rod End

Can someone clarify something for me here please?
There are four tie rod ends on the car.
Two on each side of the third arm connection.
With the connecting tube in between them on both sides.
So we have a left (drivers side) outer tie rod end and a left inner tie rod end.
And we have a right (passenger side) outer tie rod end and a right (passengers side) inner tie rod end.
However, as I understand it the left and right do not refer to which side of the car they are on but refers to the thread direction. left or right hand thread.
Ok, so which ones are left hand thread and which ones are right hand thread? Are the two outer tie rods left hand thread? and the two inner tie rods right hand thread? or visa versa?
            Thanks

              Dave -

The inner ends both use the same thread, and the outer ends both use the same thread (so turning both sleeves in the same direction at the same time moves both wheels the same amount without changing the toe-in). I'm out of town and don't recall the convention for the C1's (whether the inners are RH or LH thread); someone else will chime in.
