    68 Alternator

What is the clocking of the 68 BB alternator with power streering? The judging guide sayes. "The alternator is assembled with the core at the three o'clock position in relation to the upper adjusting boss". That is the "core"? pic's?

The alternator halves are usually referred to as D.E. and S.E.,drive end and slip ring end.The DE is the half with the numbers and the adjusting bolt hole. The SE has a hole for part of the wiring harness to plug into(the grey plug with two wires). Clocking refers to this plug-in holes position in relation to the DE adjusting bolt hole. 3 oclock would put the adjusting hole at 12 oclock and the plug in hole at 90 degrees to the right (this is 1 quarter turn as you assemble the alternator) 3 oclock is the correct position for a 68 alternator

So if I understand you. The DE end is at 12o'clock with the adjuster hole up and the SE end is the two wire plug turned 90 degrees clockwise from the 12 o'clock DE?
