Re: C3 beauty rings ?
Agree with the flash chrome diagnosis. As John said muratic acid will take it off. Get a plastic tub large enough to hold enough solution to completely submerge the trim ring.
Put enough water in the bottom of the tub to cover about half of the trim ring and then add enough muratic acid to completely cover it. IMPORTANT... Add acid to water, never water to acid !!
Slosh the trim ring around in the solution and then let it set in the solution for about 10 minutes.
Remove the trim ring and rinse completely with fresh water. When all are done, dump the acid solution into a 5 gal bucket with a tight fitting lid for use on another day.
Fill the plastic tub with 6" of water and poor in a 1lb box of baking soda and mix until the soda is disolved. Put each of the trim rings into the soda water and slosh them around for a couple of minutes apiece.
Remove and rinse well with fresh water. The soda bath will neuturalize any residual acid remaining on the trim ring.
The acid is availible from most swimming pool supply houses or lumber & hardware stores.
Wear rubber gloves and safety glasses and do this job outside with plenty of ventilation.
good luck,
tc
