I am trying to buy the correct division panel with the stamp, the clips with the stamp, the wheel cover unpainted or that looks "washed out" black and the mat . I want to have this car judged and want everything to be as close to original as possible. Is there a supplier that has top quality oem or close parts? I was in Kissimmee and saw a lot of parts that were not even close and I don't want to make that mistake. Buying the best right off can save you money and headaches in the long run. Joe

I think your best bet is to call vendors like Dr. Rebuild, Paragon, Grossmuellers, Al Knoch, etc. and ask them if the specific part is as original. Some parts are just not reproduced correctly and some not at all. Restoring these old cars is not a one stop shopping deal, if it was everyone would have a numbers matching correct car. Have you tried going to Judged meets and asking the owners where they got the parts and if it passed the judges eyes?

Re: help finding correct 62 rear compartment parts
Thank you Terry for your response. I attended the Kissimmee meet a couple of weeks ago. I was an observer judge and after we would judge a car I would ask the judges some questions. I appreciate them allowing me to look over their shoulder and didn't want to be a pain with to many questions. I found the judges to be informative and were willing to share their knowledge, but I didn't want to annoy them. I did ask some of the owners where they got certain parts but I guess they were feeling a little angst and couldn't remember. I know intuitively it's not easy to find OEM parts but I was posting this question because at the meet I saw so much bad repo's that I was trying to avoid the same mistakes I was witnessing. I will start with the names you gave me and go from there. Once again thanks for taking the time to respond. Joe- Top
