63 LH Splash Shield

The pictured LH splash shield has an indentation along the edge. This picture is from one of the parts suppliers.

I just removed cleaned up and replaced the splash shield on my 63 and the indentation is not there it is straight.

Thoughts?

The indentation you refer to was put into the shield later for the intro of a/c and the battery box moving to the left side, the indentation is for battery box clearance, I imagine they just made the one part with the indent for all applications. On later cars destined for A/C the RH shield ( which also has an indentation for battery box clearance on all NON A/C cars) actually had a small piece spot welded across the indent to fill it. If memory serves, this is found mostly on 64-6 cars then disappeared, again, probably found to be unnecessary. If one does a search, that topic has been discussed here.
