    68 intake bolts for 327/350

Where can I find the correct bolt head markings for a very late built 1968 327/350hp?

    Charles,

you have a 1/2 dozen choices for headmarkings. M, NAT, C, A, TR, F in a circle, UR, RSC and more. The repro houses make a few of these headmarkings if you want to go that route, (althought they can be told from originals by knowladgeable folks). Or you could go junkyarding/swap meet hunting or try some online auction sites.

      Charles,

There are 2 sets on E-Bay right now offered by Rich from Cappy Parts in Macungie PA.

When I judge the first thing about intake manifold fasteners that attracts my attention (and not in a good way) is if they ALL have the same head mark. My guess is that the odds of that (ALL the intake manifold fasteners having the same head mark) happening at St Louis are about the same as the odds of winning a lottery.

Thank you John -- brain fade, or something like that. Actually we could add Tonawanda to that also. Of course, I can only speak for C3s. Maybe back in the mid-years there was someone sorting the intake fasteners before the were installed.
            Do you thnk?

You and I know better, but some others don't. Might have been the same guy who inspected all the gang holders for precisely-matching font styles before the start of the day shift every day.

I was privileged to go through Flint as they were about to close the doors. It was one of the sadder trips of my life. To see what had been a vibrant, bustling place all quiet and unkempt was just so depressing. I can't imagine how difficult it was for the workers, many of whom spent a lifetime in that plant. IIRC they produced either 56 or 59 million small block engines in that plant. The correct number in The Restorer story I published.

That green desk with the pigeon holes was laying against the wall all covered with dust, with the holders and stamps still in the cubbies. Remind me sometime when you and I are more alone to tell you what happened to the gang holders and stamps.
