    Car at Painter's

Hi, well the car has finally gone to the painter. Hope to get it back in April, (painter works part time on it)

It looked like this in 1970 when I bought it

I will put all the interior , bumpers , rugs back in May. Trial trips and fun June and July and August we start our 48 state trip.

    Look forward to see you

    Jack

Whats that yellow thing parked next to your Vette?

Just wondering. Wish my 57 was that far along. -Dan-

My painter restores VW's as a side line. He has them for sale after, or will restore owned VW.

My wife was tempted when we dropped off the Vette.

No, The car originally was Milano Maroon when I bought it in 1970, it looked liked the picture on my post. I fell in love with BR Green about 30 years ago and that was the color you see in the door jam. My painter was going to repaint the same color green .

But, being my 40th anniversary of buying the car and the upcoming 48 state trip, I though it would be nice to paint it back to Maroon. My painter was not happy, since he already painted the door jams at the time he did body prep last year.

Plus , just imagine every stop on my trip and someone pointing out that my trim tag color does not match . Not that NCRS members would do that to a fellow member, would they ?

So, It will look just like new, with an old driver

Some time later April.. If I got it sooner, you know what would have happened.... I would be driving the car in the snow and rain and salt.

This way, I will get her back , spend a few weeks putting the interior and trim on and what do you know , Snows gone, May is here and planning for the big trip.

                    Jack,

If you're still planning a test drive on I-95 north in Maine this spring, maybe we can meet somewhere between my place , Caribou, and yours for lunch. My car will need a good run after I get the new 2 X 4 unit in place. Keep it in mind.
