Before I order a new hood for my 58, couple questions about shimmer sheim's quality

I am wanting to order a hood for my 58 from shimmer shiem (if I spelled that right)

It is a "press molded" hood and is gel-coated on both sides. I perfer to go this route as all of the originals I've looked at for say 1500 are in horrible shape.

If this hood is very VERY close to original and you can't really tell it's not an original I perfer to go this route.

with that said anyone have any experience with these guys? From my research so far they're the ones to go with but when I get this new press molded hood painted etc will it be able to tell it's an aftermarket repro?

SERMERSHEIM has good quality stuff as repo goes, if you can pick up and pay cash you usually can get a pretty good discount, i like to by the skin and the frame unfinished [not glued ] so i can fit them to my body and glue them in place, i get a much better fit that way, good luck

I have used their parts for years and have had very good results.
I sent them a 58 hood a few years back so they could make a pattern for the louvers for they did not offer that hood then. They have made 58 hoods for me since then and they fit very well.

if anyone else needs a 58 hood lets get a order up. If they had an order of 5 (of any items not just hoods) or so from ncrs surely they would offer a discount.

still wanting to hear from people who have seen their 58 hoods and can comment on how they differ if at all from the originals. Be nice to hear from a judge on this and if they could tell the difference from their hoods and originals.

btw they quoted me $1,050 for the hood thats press molded and gel coated on both sides, then shipping on top of that. Seems like a fair deal but maybe not.

First of all, gel-coat on the underside is unacceptable and certainly detectable.
