I'm considering adding headrests (for safety) while restoring the interior of my 67 convert. This being the only change in an otherwise correct restoration, are there any thoughts on whether this will have a negative impact on the cars value?

Bob, I added headrests to my 67 for the same reason: safety. It's not a cheap conversion as you probably know. If you do it please weld the headrest brackets to the seat frame.

As for as an impact on value, I would say it would affect only the purist's opinion. The "ordinary" person would never know the difference. Judging effect, I don't know.

I have headrests on my car as shown on my tank sticker below. It will have an impact on Judging because on the trim tag there will be an ECL (exception control letter) which would indicate whether or not headrests were an option. Someone else can explain in more detail. PT

you would only know by a ECL if you do not have std black interior or a A.O. Smith tag.
