I was looking through your old threads (July 22nd 2006) on the 68 BB fan shroud 3938940 and trying to understand Larry Kelly’s and my similar numbered 68 shroud. It kind of makes sense that his and my shrouds were not the assumed 388826?, as scribed on the top member. Rather they were a conglomeration of the old 67 AIM L36 / A5.5 upper #3888269 and the two 68 side components of the 68 AIM L36 A 13, 3935571 & 2. The three compatible (current 68 sides and left over 67 uppers) were then bundled under that #3938940 number. The vendor Manufacture does appear to be General Tire in that it is also on all my parts. It is possible, as you implied, that the three could have been joined on or off site, prior, during, or post production, to be considered production stock or service parts. Does this sound logical? This could answer my question of the origin some of these shrouds, thanks.
