My original line on my 245 HP has no indication of ever being looped and don't believe there is any way it could considering the length.

The new 56-57 Judging Guide calls for the following (page 69) :

"Original Copper coated steel lines are 3/32" diameter with a 5/16" (not 3/8") hex head compression fitting and have a loop in them after exiting the firewall prior to attaching to the engine block".

                  Mike,
Interesting, my 809 car did not have the loop, so I did not put one in when I did the car.

                      Re: 57 oil gauge line

doing more research in the archives and i see Mike Greene had a 57 with a 4360 fi unit with a great picture of the oil psi gauge line. he had a loop in his line. Mike Greene post was from March 6th 2008. From the post mentioned before the loop is not supposed to be there? was there differences with the car build dates? Want to make sure i am doing the purist thing!

                      Thanks
                      Chris
