    1963 Seatbelts

Hello, This is my first post. Hopefully, I get everything right! I am trying to determine if the tags/seatbelt shown in the attached images are correct for my Mid May built split window coupe. Any help/comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

Jon, as I recall there were two labels for 63. What is you car's build date?

    Thanks

Jon, ok, I'll pull the labels tomorrow and let ya know what I find.

          Cheers

            Hi Jon,

Welcome to the tech board and the NCRS!

Your belts look good but the new 1963-64 Judging Manual says that seat label Model 771 Cor-C was used for early cars and that Model 10-51-198-1 was used for late cars after vin 7,000.

Does the manual have the info wrong/reversed??

            Syd

Here are two different labels from the same April car.

                771 and C771.

                  That is unfortunate.

Saddle '63 belts are very hard to come by and expensive if your lucky to find them, especially with or without the overlapping X's as your specific car would dictate. I would hate to have put the wrong labels on such a rare costly part but I guess the restorer would pick up the mistake for the customer.

Has anyone seen or used the 'new' webbing (Saddle) made by America's Finest Corvettes who advertise in the Driveline?
They say they have all '63 colors in stock. Are they as original??

Syd, those are my original belts. After Charlie restored them the C771 label was not replaced. I did not notice it till much later when I was looking at the pictures.

Anyway, Charlie did a great job. He supplied new webbing for the worn piece as pictures. He returned all the old webbing to me.

I believe Mike, the owner of AFC, will send a sample of his 63 webbing. I looked at it at the Florida regional a few years back. Visually it was identical. I can't remember how it felt??
