Been gone awhile but just bought another '65. this time with K/H knockoffs. I intend on mounting radials but I need to know about balancing tires on this particular wheel. Do they require any special weights due to the dishing of the wheel? Lastly, were they balanced only on the inside or both sides originally?

Re: Wheel Balance weights on K/H knockoff's
Yes, KH KO wheels were factory balanced on ONLY the back side. Turn your copy of the AIM book to the back, UPC, P48 section and read the assy note listed as [5] on the parts list.
Now, this is for judging/factory originality consideration (weights ONLY on the back side). Remember, the factory was dealing with 'fresh' parts that'd never been driven and/or 'curb' distorted. Almost every tire/wheel shop will tell you, the BEST way to balance is with weights on both the front and back side of a given wheel...
So, Mike's advice regarding the use of adhesive backed 'stick on' weights in the rear rim cavity is SPOT ON! But, expect to encounter 'resistance' from an ordinary tire/wheel shop since they typically don't use that method, lack installation experience and probably don't have an on-hand inventory of these kind of balancing weights.
But, any shop that's used to dealing with the race crowd and/or HIGH END wheels shouldn't have a problem doing the job for you...- Top

Blake,
If you go with the stick on weights, make sure they are applied on a spot such as the far outer edge or very inner area so that the brake calipers do not rub and maybe remove them. I would recommend the outer edge since the AIM recommends the outer edge for weights.- Top

thanks for all the help. first thing I noticed was the caliper/wheel gap. I thought I may be able to source some of the thin stick on weights but I'll take a look at the far outer edge as recommended.- Top

My local Chrysler dealer has a GSP-9700 Road Force machine, and a tech who knows how to use it; that's where I have my wheels done.Attached Files- Top
