36 Corvettes in Brooklyn owned by Peter Max

Just saw this story in the New York Times and thought it might be of interest to some.

    Chuck Faillace

The pop artist Peter Max, who has owned a collection of 36 Corvettes for two decades, says he has a new plan to turn them into art.

Those are the old VH1 contest cars that Maxx bought from the winner. I firget exactly what he was going to do with them but last I knew they were in an underground garage in New York with a cyclone fence surrounding them. Most were dirty and in dis repair. I don't think any were NCRS quality but some were pretty nice. Hell of a way to treat them.

He was going to paint them to look like crap ("vivid, saturated colors"), but got delayed by the IRS and others. The article says that he wants to now paint them more "respectful" probably with stuff from his "LOVE poster or Cosmic Runner, a striding figure in bell bottoms and star spangled jacket".

What possesses these looney tunes to destroy valuable things.
