    Holley carb rebuild

Has anyone used the "Holley Custom Speed Shop" to rebuild there original carb. It is a List 3810 on a stock 1967, it is a original carb and that is my reason for concern. In the past I have used Bob Kunz but thought this might be better because they flow test. THANKS

Bob doesn't have a flow bench, but he mounts and runs his restored carbs on a 'mule' engine...

Those in my chapter who've used Holley have been unhappy campers. Why? Some didn't run properly right out of the box. Others took judging deduction(s) because Holley used off-the-shelf service replacement parts instead of actually restoring the original components of the carb they sent in.

I would strongly recommend Eric Jackson of www.Vintagemusclecarparts.com
He restored my original 3124 from my 396 and it looked perfect and ran the same way.

I just received my Holley Carb back from Holley. They said 4 to 6 weeks, I had it back in 5 weeks. It looks brand new. I installed it the next day, the car has never run better.

I had Chuck Smith in Calif. do my 3814 Holley. I have pictures if anyone is interested. Dale

All of the above names provide a great service. One thing I might add is Holley carbs of that era had ink stamps. Although I'm vaguely familiar with their meaning, they all had some form of black stamps. I don't judge 67 but I do 68 thru 72. The lack of stampings on Holleys is something I have recently started deducting for. Ask your restorer if they provide that service and if they understand what the stampings signify.
I know Jerry Luck replicates the stamps. If you, shall we say, 'are not in a hurry' you may consider him. You've just got to ask yourself a question, punk...how old are ya?

Do you deduct for the gold fuel filter inlet nuts too?
