I'm having trouble finding a 68 wiper motor decal for flight judging. Does anyone know where to purchase one (Paragon doesn't carry one for 68)? Also, what is the part number that's supposed to be on the decal (I believe it starts with a 5)? Is the julian date on the line below the part number and if so what is the format of this line? If anyone has made one, I'd be interested in how they did it. Thanks

Re: 1968 wiper motor decal
Eddie,
1968's did not have the decal on the wiper motor. It started with the 1969 model.Terry Buchanan

Re: 1968 wiper motor decal
Terry, as the JM says the 69 has a decal and no mention of the 68 having one. I have a decal that has the 68 only part no 4918712 per parts books. The Julian date code looks like a 1 for the year but this is a 68 only assy. The decals reproduced start after this 68 part no. The AIM no for 68 is 5044683 so shouldn't that be the no on the assy. Any ideas? Take a look at Paragon page 115, their #8340 is for a 69 decal but the second row with that 025 Julian and then the 1 for year does not go with the year 69???? Kind of like mine 1 instead of the year as the JM implies.

Here's my take... As you said, the AIM calls out 5044683. That's a complete WSW motor WITH washer pump assy.
Service didn't stock that item. They sold wiper motor and bolt-on washer pump components individually.
I believe you'll discover the wiper motor failed after the car was delivered and it was replaced (perhaps under warranty) with what you find on the car now...- Top

Re: 1968 wiper motor decal
Thanks for the responses. The question came up at Kissimmee last month when the Mechanical Judge said the wiper motor was missing the decal. I'm not sure what to do about this if the judge says it needs one but they weren't used until 69...... The car will be judged again at Gettysburg so I need to resolve it befor then. Ed- Top
