57 accelerator ground strap

can any one explain or show me in picture of ground strap located on the accelerator to cowl vent bolt for the FI.

The new Judging guide describes the FI accelerator ground strap as follows "Fuel injected 1957s connect from accelerator rod pivot mounting bracket at firewall to cowl vent bolt".
Attached is the picture in the Judging guide.

I did read that, do you suppose it matters with bolt to connect to (inboard or outboard)? Also which strap to use. I have many to choose from, use the one similar to the cross members exhaust clamps or is there a correct one to use? the straps i have a ring connector on one end with the other a square head with a larger hole?

Chris,
Nolands Adams vol 1 tech & Resto Guide (pg 184 shows a picture of the accelerator linkage but no ground strap. It is an airbox car which probably did not have a radio and subsequently no ground strap.
On page 155 there is a drawing of carb linkage with a ground strap with square ends.
I know this is not much help but hopefully one of the 57 guys will add some better info.

Chris, attaches to inboard stud of cowl vent same as wiper motor ground. Gary....

how about the fuel injection accelerator bracket, in or out?

Also can you tell me what vin might be considered late? Trying to figure out the ballast resistor mounting area. If the resistor would have ben mounted high would the hole be present? Or could the hole be present in the low spot as well as it was on early 57's.

Chris, the ballast resistor hole is either in the normal place or up high, but not in both. Earliest unrestored car VIN with the ballast resistor up high is 5877. Gary....
