Any 66 427 owners out there with original bolts? What was the head marking? note I am seeing a difference in what the big houses sell and even my car.

Re: 66 427 Water Pump Attachment bolts
Bolts manufactured by many different suppliers were used for just about any bolt application, especially a real common one like waterpump bolts. These bolts look to be a common headmark used for the application. That does not mean that ALL were this headmark. Also, waterpump bolts were of different lengths. It's VERY common to find different headmarkings on the different length bolts.
I believe that most period-correct headmarkings are accepted for judging. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Ron,
On original 66's I have seen many different headmarkings and the length of the bolt varied from 1-3/4to 1-7/8". And the bolts were grade 5 (3 radial lines) Those WB's are the early style that was used in 66...not only do you have to watch what headmarking you use but some of them have different style font's. Bottom line those WB's are right on the money for your 66.
Not only have I seen the bolts vary in length but the AIR stud as well.

Re: 66 427 Water Pump Attachment bolts
If any one was going to know, it be you Rich, thanks. That and this my second 66 bb, with these same bolts & contrary to what the 'nearly local' big repro houses had to say about this. It was clear these had been there for a very very long time.
The manufacturing in me says that the part bin on the engine line for this job had one part from one supplier. Yes fasteners could be dual sourced, and that difference you'd see geographically, Tonawanda would have one thing, Flint another; or over time a buyer would buy from one supplier and then another.- Top
