Door handle spring

This is the door handle spring that Ecklers sells under part number A4303.
They list it as a 1968 spring.
Anyone know if this fits all handles?

Looking at my 68 and 69 the two springs have a different number of coils (length). The 68 has 9 coils while the 69 has 12 on the spring. The Eckler's picture shows 8.

The springs are also located in different locations. In 68 the spring is in the middle of the handle and the 69 at the bottom. I don't know about other years.

Other than this it looks as if it should work, but not be 100% correct.

The 12 coils sounds like those use from 69 on?

I've never seen anyone selling these other than Ecklers. Looks like the Ecklers isnt even right.
