    Tachometer for a 1967 427/390 hp

I'm looking at this car with a tach "redline" that reads 6,200 rpm. Is this correct for this big block car? Seems kind of a low redline.

    Thanks,

    Jerry

    Gerald,

I think it should be 6000 for a 390/400 car, and 6500 for a 435 car. Can you check again? I do not think any 67 would have had a 6200 redline.

That is what I am trying to figure out. Looking at the picture the seller sent me, the tach reads yellow from 5,400 to 6,000 and red from 6,000 to 6,200.

There are five lines between each of the major RPM's. So between 6,000 and 6,200 there is a one line difference.

Doesn't make much sense does it?

Or could this be just a small block tach in a big block car???

after looking at the pictures one more time, it has a 6,000 redline which I guess is correct for the 390 hp car.

That is correct for an L-36 or L-68.
