    Solid Axle Racing

I just pirated this from "youtube". Very interesting racing with Mr Duntov.

Me too! I guess that was the year Fitch made up all kinds of time in the rain. I think he was running 3rd at one time.

Thank you. Always great to see Corvette history, especially with Duntov there. I'm sure that was Elfi Duntov taking pictures of the #1 Corvette in front of the pits before race day. Save the Wave.> George

Lance Miller is planning on taking the # 3 Cunningham car to the 24 hrs. this next June and celebrate 50 years of Corvette at LeMans. Hopefully others will join in the fun.

Thanks for posting this site. I now have more photos for the REGISTY OF CORVETTE RACE CARS. at www.registryofcorvetteracecars.com.

Was the third Cunningham car that burned left in France---or so the story goes? Flammable liquid in the windshield washer reservoir?

Thanks for posting!!! I knew I saw/heard it somewhere! I bought the VHS 25+ years ago! The Cunningham Corvette did have windshield washers and fluid which fueled the fire. At approx. 7 mins 30 secs into the video the announcer mentions the windshield "cleaner" tank with flammable liquid in it. At approx. 9 mins 12 secs you can see the windshield washer nozzle during a pit stop. I guess ICRS!

          Thanks!
