    "TR" Headmarkings on wheel studs?

I am redoing my rotors and need to replace some damaged wheel studs on the hub, can anyone tell me if the wheel studs for 68 are suppose to have TR head markings?

Are these available as aftermarket? I only see markings with the number 243??

    Thanks,
    Pat

    Pat

On my 68 9 out of the 10 studs on the front wheels have a M headmark, the 10th is TR.

In the rear none of the studs have a headmark.

      thanks John,

Half of mine are tr- the other are without markings. I dont see anything in the JG on this but would like to get the little details right. I may go with TR if there are no ohter posts on this.

      Thanks,
      pat

You will not find anything in the JM about wheel studs -- unless you want to begin removing the wheel covers so that they can be judged.

GM used 500,000 lug studs every single day - it's highly unlikely that they all came from one supplier; I wouldn't be concerned about "matching" them.

i'm not so concerned about matching but my dilemma is so many parts are totaly corroded and i have found 68, 69, 70, 71,72,73,74 parts on my car that I do not know what should be where. As I rebuild i would like to know what is correct since it has to be replaced anyway.

Apparently all the good advice to "find the best example you can find before you purchase" was wasted on me. Are there extra points for charity case cars
