OK, yet another question. The oiling tube on my 1110872 distributor is 180 degrees different than the oiling tube on a 1110879 distributor.
I would expect that the oiling tube would come out of passenger side of the distributor (as installed in the engine), then take a 90 degree turn FORWARD toward the front of the car, then take a 90 degree turn up.
The oiling tube on my 872 comes out of the passenger side of the distributor, then takes a 90 degree turn BACKWARD toward the rear of the car, then takes a 90 degree turn up. This puts the oil cap for the tube behind the distributor.
Anyone else with an 872 distributor (or an 879 for that matter) with an oiling tube pointing toward the rear?
