The drawing is a hand drawm sketch, but it appears to be pretty simple. I will locate the drawing this evening and post the description (and maybe the drawing itself if I can scan it in).

Sal, thanks for starting this thread. This was a real learning experience on the gas door for me. Edward, great pictures of an original uninstalled '68 gas door. I understand now why it's a one time attachment and the hinge on the door is not replated during a restoration.

Something else that has become clearer to me based on comments in this thread is that the '68-69 TJM is incorrect when it says that there was no spring to hold up the gas door in those 2 years.

Here is a sketch of the 68 Corvette spin rivet tool. Think of this as a drill bit. The shaded areas are grooves cut into the "ball"
