Black wire straps; GM # 9422033

    Guys,

The part # in the '66 AIM is 9422033. The engine compartment straps have the same number as the fuel tank overflow strap. The AIM calls out qty=4 in the engine compartment in one drawing and qty=2 in another, but one or two might be the same strap location in the two different drawings, so I can't tell if the engine compartment total is 4, 5, or 6. It's a bit hard to tell from the drawings.

I recently found many of these straps on mid 60's GM cars in the bone yards. Take a look.

This was from the last set I had listed. I have a few more. One thing you need to watch is there are several different lengths.

            Black wire straps; Lengths

            Rich,

I assume you meant that straps from other GM models differ from Corvette. Are all the straps for mid-year Corvettes the same length? If so, what is the correct Corvette length?

Why are you guys 'picking' on Barry (flying65vette)? He's an old and long time NCRS member. He buys strictly for the restoration cars he's working on--NOT for resale/profit. He values factory originality/authenticity and is typically not concerned with 'haggling' price when there's a given part he wants/needs and he's convinced it's the real deal item...

                Gary,

65-69 wire tie straps all share the same AIM # of 9422033. They all are between 5-1/8" and 5-1/4". The longer ones I was referring to are from 67-69 Camaros and they are 7-1/4". I also have included pictures of the P and RX markings. Another thing to look for is on the back side of the straps the RX straps have 2 depressions on the head.

                  Jack,

I know of no reason to pick on Barry. He's got a 100% e-bay feedback rating and of the last 25 e-bay transactions listed on his feedback page, he was the seller and not the buyer on 18 items, so recently he sells more than buys. I was just curious what he might have for auction that I might want to bid on.
