I'm having to sale my 66 coupe and when I bought it in 1988, the engine block was sitting in garage. I placed crate engine for driver and never worked on 327 block. Now I need to sale, I just want to be honest with buyer. I don't know if block is original, here's the dates/#s. If these are red flags, I'd appreciate it. Body Built Date: K07. A.O.Smith A-4516. Engine Pad has correct Vin # with F0520HH. It was delivered to Harry Mann Chevy, Los Angeles, CA on June 30th. (This was stated, not documented). Block Cast: 3858174, C 28 6. Transmission is P8P12 M-20 (I know it isn't original) Thank You!

Re: Dates
The casting number is correct for 66 327 Corvette block, although the dates seem to have some time in between. With a March casting date and a May assembly date, although it falls within the 6 month window seems to be longer than I would expect to see on MOST applications. Although, there can be many variables that can come into play. The VIN would be helpful in determining, and if you could post a photo of the stamp pad on that block, I am sure you will get some good opinions as to originality.
