C-3 Frame Current Restorer Issue

I just received my current issue of the Corvette restorer and was surprised at the back cover to see what appears to be a C-3 frame being sprayed and nothing appears to be masked off.
That would mean the rear end and half shafts and gas tank would all end up the same color.
Is that true or is this some type of preservative that is being sprayed on?

Kurt, there is a recent thread regarding this photo, subject escapes me at the moment. If I recall correctly, the frame getting the paint in the photo is not a production frame and the paint was being applied when the line was down. Or something of that nature.

I don't think that's a C3 chassis in the photo. I think it's a C2 and, most likely, a 1963.
