    Correct Head Bolt Marking

Does anyone know of a one-stop-shop for correct bolts, and a reference for where they go?
My friend is putting the chassis of his 72 convertible back together, he is looking for the correct head marks for the upper A-arm pivot shaft. Does anyone have that information handy, how about for a 74?

    Thanks

    Todd

    Todd -

The Tripoli '53-'72 Chassis Restoration Guide shows those bolts as 3/8"-24 x 7/8", plated, Grade 8, with either RSC or SBC headmarks. Dunno about '74.

      Thanks John.
Do you know if there are plans to do a chassis restoration book for vehicles after 72?

        Todd -

I guess you'd have to ask Joe Tripoli - he wrote the '53-'72 book twenty years ago.

          Hi Todd,
It's good to remember that since the head mark represents a supplier, and suppliers changed, and several suppliers could/would used at the same time, the headmarks used in specific connections could vary even on the same car. For example, the bolts for the front bumper bracket to frame connection has one head mark on the drivers side and another head mark on the passenger's side on my 71.
If I were looking for bolts with specific head marks I'd contact Richard Fortier (fomerly of Paragon). He has an ad in THE NCRS DRIVELINE indicating his vast collection of bolts, nuts, washers, screws, etc. Page 29 in the current issue.
          Regards,
          Alan
