69 driver side vent door cable and door seal

1. My driver side vent door cable does not move. I disconnected the end of the cable from the vent door and it still does not move. What is the process to replcae the cable and access the connection at the center consol? Non-AC car
2. Can the vent door seals be replaced with the vent door in place; if not, what is the process?

Don the vent door is two pieces of steel riveted together that and retains the seal. The doors rivets will need removal to replace the seal. I have not bought the seals for my 68 or 70 yet, however Dr. Rebuild from what I have read on this board sells a kit with everthing you will need.
