I own a 1959 corvette. In reviewing all the technical documentation I have I can not find information on the width of the gaps at the doors. I have the 1959 shop manuals, the factory asembly manual and the aftermarket service manual. I also would like to know the gap at the top of the door along the windshield. Thanks for any help. David

The reason you can't find that info is because I don't think it exists. These cars were not Bentley's, the precision is which they were built leaves a lot to be desired. Having worked at a Chevy store in the 60's I can tell you some doors fit good others looked like Bubba worked on them. Also realize that your car has had 50 years of aging put to it, unless you have owned it since new you have no idea how much stress the car has been through. When aligning your doors you try to get the best fit that you can and that's as good as it gets. You can search the archives for tips on how to use body shims to help with this procedure, but also realize that no two cars are going to be alike after 50 years. Hope this helps
