1958 wheel covers
It has just come to my attention while researching parts for my 1958 restoration that my car has slotted wheel covers which were on it when I pruchased it in 1968. According to the judgeing manual 58 had solid covers and 59s were slotted. My car was an April 58 build date. Is there any possibility they might have been original? I have researched every book I have. I guess I will have to assume someone put later covers on between 58 and 68 before I purchased it. Anybody want to trade? They haven't been on the car since 1969. Thanks for your help.

My '58 has solid covers. They started with slotted covers in '59.

I would not be surprised if somewhere along the line the orginal covers were lost of stolen. With the last month of production being August of 58 I do not believe an April car would have 59 hubcaps.Comment
