53 to 55 hard tops.

I had many people ask about the hard tops offered for 53 to 55 that I use in the winter months because it's so nice fitting and warm using my heater . There was others offered by out side suppliers but I love the Plasticon because of the large rear window . So here is their advertiser and cost, their button logo on each side usually wears off which mine is missing. I see them on e-bay selling from 3k to 5K and more now days.

Putting the soft top up is a pain ,airy ,noisy and leaks water so I rarely ever use it having my HT.

roy, nice fitting top! to get it watertight in back did you add anything? instructions call for these tops to have a hole drilled right behind the drivers door. i never had a watertight seal in back with the top attached at that point. seemed like the top needed a anchoring point farther back.

When I restored the hard top I first removed the hold down hinges and glassed in "U" brackets so I could use straps as seen here that are self tightening along with using soft sponge rear weatherstripping for better sealing. On the side of the body I added 57 hard top latch plates to better support the little hook not eating into the glass. As you see the inside liner is leather hiding the "U" brackets.
