    1107247= 1964-67 Chevrolet 283.

    1107260= 1965 Buick Special and Oldsmobile F-85 with 225 cid V-6

    There was no Chevrolet waterpump of casting #3859828. I think what you have is a 3859326. This pump was used for 1965-67 Corvette small blocks with external bypass as well as for all short leg SERVICE applications for many years. Given the date, I'd say this is a SERVICE casting manufactured in 1970 or 1980.

      Thanks for the information on the starter and the water pump.
      The starters came off a small block vette.someone must had there
      starter rebuild and they used a different case or it was a exchange.
      Thanks for the reply

        The starter FRAME (the part with the stamped numbers) is interchangeable between a wide number of different starters. When a starter goes through a commercial rebuilding operation, it is stripped down to its basic components. The reusable parts, including the frame, are reconditioned and put in bins. Rebuilt starters of whatever configuration the rebuilder needs to produce are built up from the component parts without regard to what numbers are stamped on the starter frames.

        What this all boils down to is that after a starter has gone through a commercial rebuilding operation, it completely loses its original "identity". The numbers stamped on the frame mean absolutely nothing. To avoid "confusion", some rebuilders have taken to a practice of grinding off the original numbers or covering them with a foil label.
