Would a 1966 radio delete car have an antenna hole in the body from the factory that is repaired during production or would the hole never have been cut in the first place.

The antenna hole should only have been cut if the car has the radio option.- Top

Re: Radio delete antenna hole
I don't have a '66 AIM handy but I do have both the '65 and '67 books. Both call for the hole to be drilled as part of the U69 radio option. That suggests the standard/base car that come without a factory radio had no antenna hole and the hole was only drilled/cut to serve optionally radio equipped cars.
I think it was quite a few years later (when radio became a basic component vs. an option) that the norm became to have the antenna hole with non-radio equipped cars having the hole plugged from the factory...- Top

Re: Radio delete antenna hole
Hi Rich, Guess it's possible that the earlier C3 had the hole, but the later ones in, in 74,75 and 76 never saw a hole for the antenna. We need some pic's of members Corvette. Wish I would have taken more pic's back in the day. Save the Wave.>George- Top

Re: Radio delete antenna hole
George,
I should have listed the year cars I worked on were mainly 72 and earlier so You must be correct on the later cars. I don't think I saved any pictures of these cars. Also I have not looked at all the pictures from the 300 mile Z-R1 to see if it had a pluged hole.

Re: Radio delete antenna hole
Here's a shot of the underside of a "no radio" 66 deck panel. The area where an antenna would have been should look like this with no evidence of a repair/hole filled.
There are also many other clues to a real no radio C2.Last edited by Michael H.; November 11, 2010, 02:12 PM.- Top
