    67 big block heater emergency

Just finished replacing a heater core and need to know if those foam insulator donuts are correct that go over the heater core nipples in the engine compartment before the heater hoses are installed. I dont have a 67 judging guide, so I cant remember if 67's get them.

I know that 63's have them installed originally, but do 67's?

    Thanks,
    Boyan

Boyan, on pg.92 it says 2 unique grommets so I would say yes. Bill.

I guess I need to rephrase the question. Does any one have knowledge regarding if the heater core donut grommets are correct for a 67 per the NCRS judging manual. No guesses please, just if someone can look up in a current manual I would appreciate it.

I appreciate everyone's input, but as with 90% of the questions asked on the board, there seems never to be a definative answer.

I don't know. That may be a different answer.

The core should be the same, regardless I just changed mine as well, following the instructions that said they did not apply, I'd have to see if I have that sheet stuck somewhere.

I stand corrected on my earlier post. The donuts are NOT used on the heater pipes. The gasket that seals the heaterbox also seals around the pipes. This is shown on page UPC 1ASM D6, of the AIM.

The NCRS judging manual page 91, does not mention these either....

Sorry if I led you astray....

Yup, the small round seals on the pipes are 63 only.

Thanks guys. I also checked my 63 manual which said they are NOT used for 64, so I kinda figured it wasnt for 67. Thanks again everyone and I knew we would get to the bottom of it.
