    C1 Hood Relase

After screwing with my battery for the last week....new problems exist.

I pull the hood release and only one side pops up and I cant get the hood open... I have followed the cables, but there isnt anything sticking out that I can get to..... Is there any easy way to get the hood on the passenger side to release??

    Thank

Depends on what year but I had the Same happen in the past . Grab the cable under the dash and pull on it because if the cable lock came loose pulling the cable housing can release it. Then find out why the housing is slipping from the lock plate.

If the cable little brass lock came loose your in trouble . Only thing is to try and lift the hood to get a Loooooooonge screw driver to push the lever or from under the vett do the same thing . Or lifting the driver side hood and try to reach the R/S cable and pull on it hopping the brass lock is not loose . Keep us up to date how things go and good luck!!

Roy is right. I had the same problem with my '57 and it was also the passenger side. I pulled the cablefrom inside on the passenger side and nothing. Then I layed on my back (jackstands help but not too high and take off the right front wheel & tire) and reached up and pulled down on the female. It takes some manuevering and time but it will come. You may need to use a long screwdriver to pry the female. Be careful of the battery, assuming it is in and cables are on.

That is how you get under them! Find a long armed skinny friend---or a chassis judge!
