    I think that he is mistaken. That clearly is from a 1957 Corvette with the optional 409, a very rare part.

      it is not even from any chevy engine because the water pump inlet is on the wrong side.

            a friend back in the 60s had a 57 corvette that he installed a 425 HP 409 and boy was it quick in a straight line !!!

              That's exactly what it's from, but I don't know which engine. Most likely the 326-389-400-421-455 series, though. Looks like someone painted it Chevrolet orange at some point in its history.

                  'Knew a couple of guys who did similiar things back in the 60's. One had a school bus yellow '57 with a 301, straight axle and Hilborns. Pulled the wheels off with no problem. Another bought a new '63 coupe, pulled the 327 and installed a 425 HP 409. He repainted it orange. A third bought a new '64 two top, put in a punched 327 with Hilborns and a Torque Flite. Those were the days my friend, as the song goes--- 'Kept mine stock because I didn't have any money. Good thing now.
