Most likely, GM #1114356. However, it is possible that others were also used. I'd say the 1114356 is, at least, the most common one, though.

My Delco-Remy Service Parts Catalog (Oct. 72) lists 1114356 as the solenoid for the 1107365 starter. The same catalog also lists 1114344 as the solenoid for the 1107320 starter (327 engine) which agrees with the actual numbers stamped on the solenoids on my two original 1107320 starters (1966 date codes). I also have a few 1107247 starters from 1964-1966 Chevrolets w/283 engines that have the 1114344 solenoid. HOWEVER, my 1966 Chevrolet parts catalog (Oct. 1965) lists 1114356 as the part number for all 1966 Chevrolet models (including the Corvette) with a description as follows: "solenoid (stamped 1114356)".

I have the 1/4" crud scrapped off eveything to get the number:
1114345. Does this come up as one of the 'other numbers'?

This thing has never been apart, at least for 40 years. I bet that crud is a heat shield too from some of the other posts I've seen about the bb starters.

          I have a 1107376 starter dated "7 A 30" (Jan. 30, 1967) with a 1114345 solenoid on it but also has a painted stamping "rebuilt 2/79".

            Ron,

While looking for some parts in my garage I came across an early 1972 starter stamped "1108430" dated "1L9" (November 9, 1971). The solenoid is stamped "1114345".

GM # 1114345 is listed in Gr. 2.100 in my 1964 Chev. Parts Catalog (Oct. 1963) for the 1964 Chev. 409 and GM # 1114356 is listed for 1964 ALL, Corvette (exc. 409).

GM # 1114345 is not listed in my 1965 Chev. Parts Catalog (Oct. 1964). and does not appear in Chevrolet Parts History. The number just seemed to disappear between Oct. 1963 and October 1964.

GM # 1114356 appears in all of my 1964-1972 parts catalog to fit 1957-1972 Corvettes and seems to be strictly a service part.

Over the years I have had 4 original starters (NOT rebuilt) dated from 1964 to 1966 with solenoids stamped "1114344".

My 1965 starter #1107352 also has the 1114345 solenoid on it.

                Ray,

It does not surprise me that the 1114345 solenoid "disappeared" as a part sold over the counter sometime between Oct. 1963 and Oct. 1964 but continued to be used on the assembly line where the Delco-Remy starters were made.
