I' m restoring a 66 bb coupe to show, but will obviously be driving it for fun. So I have a set of tires for when it finally get shown but what is best for daily driving. I have a set of 6" knock offs that I will mount the driver tires on. So what is a good tire size to use that wont rub and looks somewhat correct. Also that can handle the bb power I anticipate? rims are 15", 6'" wide.

Re: 66 tires for driver
Hi Bill:
I have 205 75 15's Uniroyal Tigerpaws on my 67 The white walls are close and they were less than $100 each. fill the wells good and have no rubbing issues. How's your winter going? And your dad? I hope all is well.

Re: 66 tires for driver
Bill:
I had 205x75x15 Firestones on my 66. They fit very well but were very old. I replaced them with 205X75X15 Michelins and they rubbed. I don't understand why a specific tire size differs but i was told a lot of 205x75 tires are now made for trucks and are sized differently.
I just replaced the tires on my 67 and went with the recomendation of Diamondback to use the 215x75x15 red lines (Michelins). They were way too big so we replaced them twith the 205's (Michelins)and they seem to fit just fine. By the way, Diamondback was great! They sent the replacements and had UPS pick up the first set all at their cost.
I had always used the 205's with no issues in the past. Whatever you get, I suggest mounting the fronts and then check for clearance before driving away
