    '61 windshield washer

\On my 1961, I have installed a newly rebuilt wiper washer pump and vacuum lines, but nothing works. I have the conatiner 1/2 full of washer fluid but with the car running I can't get it to pump. I am trying to get ready for Kissemme and this is the last piece of the puzzle. Any ideas?

Who did the rebuild? These systems are VERY tricky to restore and make work correctly...

The design was pretty much marginal when they were fresh/new and when left to sit dry over time, internal friction can easily climb to the point there's simply not enough vac pressure to actuate the pump properly.

Guys who are pros in the restoration biz (e.g. Jay Maxwell) go to great pains to bench test and make sure their restored systems are, in fact, working correctly... And if you used Jay, he should be ready/willing/able to consult with you via phone!

If you used someone else, I'd suggest you ring them up and cry 'HELP'. You're up against the wall (time-wise) on a problem that can be quite thorny...
