The air condition bracket that attaches to the exhaust manifold is there
a washer between the exhaust manifold and the bracket or
was it omitted from exhaust manifold with air cars
Can some one post a pic. help

      John
      It is a 1965 with 327/300hp
The bracket on manifold looks like it would line up
with the hole on the end with the hole on the bracket that attaches
to the water pump without the washers on.
I have the brackets on now and the holes dont line up very well.

        William,
Send me an email (explain exactly what you want) & I will try to get some pictures to you. I have a 65 300/327 with AC but it is assembled.

Bill -- I went through this same exercise a couple of years ago, when installing the compressor on my '65 L76. I had the lower original bracket #3841696 (see an NOS example in pic, which does NOT have the semicircular indentation, at the pencil location, which is for the '66-up with A.I.R. plumbing).

The AIM is of no help. both the mounting bolt/stud (at #3 hole and #1 hole, counting backward from front of exh. manifold) are unique. I was concerned about thread engagement in head, so I went with no thick washer at #3 (there is none there anyway with the non-A/C set-up), then I tried with and without thick washer at #1 stud, and found that with NO washer, I got better thread engagement, and the centerline eyeball alignment was good. Also, the front plate/bracket (that bolts to the waterpump and the front 'eyelet' of the horizontal (compressor support bracket [in pic]), aligned without forcing.
