1955 3704911 Water Pump

FYI - 1955 3704911 water pump without the boss on top(1956 3704911 water pump has the boss on top).
Please refer to the pictures.
Number 1 pictures show the front and rear of the 3704911 water pump that was used on the Chevrolet 265 V-8 engines produced at the Flint engine plant. All 1955 Corvettes with the 265 V-8 engine used this water pump.
Number 2 pictures show the front(note the "T") and rear of the 3704911 water pump that was used on Chevrolet 265 V-8 engines produced at the Tonawanda engine plant. No 1955 Corvettes with the 265 V-8 engine used this water pump.

My post was referring to the 3704911 water pump usage in 1955 only. But, I do agree with you that very early 1956 Corvettes used the 3704911 water pump without the boss on top like 1955.
Except for the very early 1956 Corvettes, the 1956 Corvette used the 3704911 water pump with the boss on top(see my three pictures of the 1956 3704911 water pump with the boss on top).
There were two other variations of the 3704911 water the boss on the top. One has a "T" on it and was made at Tonawanda and the other has a 3/8" NPT bypass fitting hole on the top of the boss(these were never used on the 1956 Corvette).
