Pete --- here's a thought; last '65 has diff FA_7_15_65. Early 1966 VIN 00224 has the same stamped code.

Here's my reading of the '65 AIM: the diff's arrived (on pallets ?) from Warren with the plug and (if posi) the tag in place. At St.Louis, they unscrewed the plug, added one of 2 kinds of bulk fluid (posi or not) and reinstalled the plug assembly.

Always wondered if that #6S100224 might've had the same posi tag as 5S123564 (be it the '65 type [more likely] or the '66 revision). If yes, then it would certainly not be TFP for the model year(s), but explainable under EOP/SOP vagaries.
