    PS Pump Service Parts

I am hoping that Joe Lucia may be able to find a part number that superceded the ring, rotor, and vane kit for a Saginaw power steering pump. Original part number was 7825173. I am hoping that you can find a later part number.

There seems to be a disconnect between Saginaw Service Sales and General Motors. I think that most of Saginaw's service parts are going out through independent sales outlets and not through GM. I got a bunch of part numbers on reservoirs and seal kits but none of them show up at GMPartsDirect. For instance:
    1970-73 Seal Kit 26091699, Reservoir & Seals 7826727
1974 Reservoir Only (Zinc Plated) 26111511 Reservoir & Seals 7826727
1975-79 Reservoir (Zinc) 26112050, Reservoir Kit 7826770, Seal Kit 26091699

The Saginaw pump reservoirs are now sold with a plated surface rather than paint.

As far as I can tell, the GM #7825173 rotor and vane kit has been discontinued without supercession. I'm not 100% sure of this, though, and you might want to check with a GM dealer to see if they have any other information on a possible very recently released replacement. I don't think they'll be one, though. From what I can find, this part was never available through the Delco parts system. It's last GM list price was well over 200 bucks, so would you want one even if you could find it? Complete commercially remanufactured pumps, even from Delco, are quite a bit less than that.

As far as the 7826727 and 7826770 reservoirs go, both are GM and Delco discontinued without supercession.

I don't know what the 26091699, 26111511, and 26112050 are. I can't find any record of them in either the GM or Delco parts systems. They do look like "late edition" Saginaw part numbers, though.

The current GM and Delco part numbers for the 67-82 power steering pump shaft seal and reservoir seal kits are as follows:

    shaft seal----GM #19146402----Delco #36-348720

    seal kit, complete---GM #19146544---Delco #36-350390

    seal kit-----GM #19146606----Delco #36-351160

I don't know what the difference is between the last two seal kits. I think the last one includes a few less parts than the previous, but I don't know what the parts difference is. The last one only costs a few dollars less than the previous, so I'd always go with the more-inclusive kit.

By the way: irridite ("gold") plated reservoirs= beware; very likely Chinese-origin replacement parts
